LIFE AT MIYANG · Everyday life

Beyond the code

Shanghai, Xuhui, Caohejing. Aside from the boss and our PM, everyone here was born in the 2000s. We write code, ship products, and run evals — and share the office with a cat named Mango.

THE GOOD PART · Joy you can hold

Joy, around here,
usually has a concrete shape.

A cup of coffee, a camp cot, a round of games, a Korean class, or a freezer about to overflow with ice cream. We think you have to be happy yourself before you can make anything that makes other people happy.

A DAY HERE · After standup

Get the problems on the table,
then go deep on your own

Standup is for progress, blockers, and anything that needs a hand. Then we write code, design, sort materials, run evals. AI is the default tool — tokens are basically uncapped.

Users and players passing through Shanghai often drop by to talk.

EVERYDAY SUPPORT · Daily charge

Work hard.
Remember to recharge

Some support is written into the rules. Some just sits within reach.

01

The snack table stays full

Snacks stay stocked; the coffee machine is right there

02

A nap kit for everyone

A weighted eye mask and a camp cot, one set each

03

Bilibili, all year

Annual premium membership, one for everyone

04

Korean class comes in

The teacher comes to the office

05

Shows you want, classes you want

The company covers tickets and course fees — then you tell the rest of us about it

06

Late dinner and the ride home

After 20:30, a 30-yuan dinner stipend; after 22:00, taxis are reimbursed

This list isn't finished. The boss notices how people feel, and slowly turns those feelings into everyday care.

TEAM APPETITE · Dinner, on record

Twenty-seven jin of crayfish,
eaten over three days

The boss heard each of us could eat 3 jin, so he actually ordered 27 jin of crayfish. Then we ate for 3 days.

HOW WE WORK · AI NATIVE

Build the tech
into the product

We do algorithm research, engineering, and product design. We also write papers, write down methods, and build evals. Problems come from the product; results go back into the product.

GO BUILD IT · Just go

If you want to build it,
first show you can.If you can, go build it.

01

Users first

Real usage and real feedback set the product's priorities.

02

Tech as the craft

Keep working on algorithms, evals, and engineering — and publish the process and results on Miyang Lab.

03

Product-driven

Research starts from real product problems, then the findings go back into the product.

KEEP LEARNING · Read it first

Before you start building,
read the problem through

The academic habit stuck: research and theory first, then build. After a feature ships, we write the judgment and the process into something reusable. Courses you want to take — just talk to the boss.

OUR MEMES · Group-chat assets

Some lines grew up
to be stickers

The company has plenty of coworker stickers. The official site is a serious place, so we decided to sell out the boss first.

MANGO · Permanent resident

Mango. Spawns at random
around the office

Mango is a Li Hua tabby the boss rescued, with a little orange-cat in her. When we found her, her right front paw was already hurt. She later had a major surgery. She's an absurdly good cat: you can pet her, hold her, she never bites, and she barely sheds.
